USPS Raising Rates For 2026 Holiday Season: See What's Increasing
The US Postal Service is planning price hikes for the 2026 holiday season. The higher USPS rates are expected to begin on Sunday, Oct. 4. The temporary prices would stay in place through Sunday, Jan. 17, 2027, pending a review by the Postal Regulatory Commission. The increases would apply to Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express, USPS Ground Advantage, and Parcel Select. Twenty-one dogs were removed from a Long Island boarding business after police found the animals in various stages of neglect, authorities said. Officers responded to 144 Shore Road in Manorhaven at 10:44 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, after receiving a report of sick animals, Nassau County Police said.
