Richard D. Wade Jr., 46, of Port Ewen, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 12, following an investigation by New York State Police, the agency announced on Friday, Aug. 14.
The investigation began earlier in August after State Police received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, authorities said.

A sleeping child was thrown onto the pavement outside a Lancaster County Walmart, leading to a man's arrest, police announced on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
Justin Martin Wagner, 41, of Lancaster, was arrested following the incident at the Walmart at 890 East Main St. in Ephrata Township at 6:58 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, according to the Ephrata Police Department.
Wagner had been causing a disturbance inside the store before witnesses saw him take a sleeping child from a shopping cart, lift the child into the air, and throw the child onto the pavement in the parking lot, police said.

A New York man in a stolen vehicle fled police in a highway chase in the Capital Region, authorities said.
Daniel N. Reed, 54, of Delmar, was spotted driving the stolen car around 1 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6 in the southbound lanes of I-87 through Clifton Park, New York State Police said. The car had been reported stolen from Bolton hours earlier, according to state troopers.

Woman, 27, Charged In Capital Region Stabbing — But Locals Say There’s More To The Story
A New York woman stabbed someone multiple times in the presence of a child in the Capital Region on Sunday, Aug. 9, police said.
Raven Ward, 27, of Watervliet, stabbed the victim in the shoulder during a domestic dispute near 2nd Avenue and 13th Street, the Watervliet Police Department said.
The victim was hospitalized for their injuries and is expected to make a full recovery, cops said.

A California man was driving drunk through the Capital Region when he was busted with two illegal guns, police said.
Lorne Christopher Thayer, 59, of LaHonda, CA, was arrested on the New York State Thruway in East Chatham around 11 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, New York State Police said.
Troopers spotted Thayer’s 2017 Ram truck parked in a grass field on the westbound side of the highway, authorities said. Investigators noticed Thayer appeared drunk and put him through field tests, which he failed, according to state police. He was arrested for DWI.

An elderly person and 20 dogs were rescued from inhumane conditions at a home in New York, police said.
The dogs were living in feces- and urine-filled cages with insufficient ventilation, New York State Police said Thursday, Aug. 13. Additionally, the dogs did not have immediate access to food or water, authorities said.
